Stuart Wareing is a location sound recordist and drone pilot working around the globe on television documentaries and factual programmes. With over 20 years of
experience on a whole range of diverse
and challenging subjects, he is an essential person to have with you in your team.
From the Winter Olympics, to a Tuareg wedding in the Sahara desert, to a remote indigenous village deep in Papua New Guinea, Stuart has captured the sights and sounds of some of the most unusual and exciting events this planet has to offer.
I always use my own equipment, investing only in kit that is renowned for its quality and reliability. I test and maintain it before each shoot at my base in Dorset, and also out in the field.
I like my kit to be both lightweight and powerful, but most of all, it has to be reliable in tough conditions.
I use Sound Devices mixers, Schoeps boom microphones, Audio Ltd A-10 wireless systems, and lavalier mics by DPA and Countryman.
Timecode sync to cameras is made possible by Atomos Ultrasyncs and Ambient Tentacles.
